Currently, Prince of Peace is offering a full, distanced learning program for grades K-8. Students receive live instruction for Bible, Math, Language Arts, science, history/social studies, Spanish, music and PE. Instruction and expectations have been tailored for age and grade level appropriateness. Parents and teachers work in partnership to support the students while they are learning outside of the classroom. Prince of Peace has implemented a 1:1 Chromebook program for K-8 giving access to each child to use a school provided Chromebook. Teachers utilize tools such as Zoom and Google Classroom to teach, connect, assess, and communicate with the students. Regularly scheduled "office hours" allow students and teachers to connect virtually in small groups or individually.
Weekly Chapel services are viewed together as a class. It is understood that this current pandemic puts a strain on the mental, emotional, and developmental well-being of the students and their families. As a school, it is desired to support families during these challenging times. Pastors , the Director of Family Ministry, and Director of Youth Ministries are available to help and support students and parents as they continue to deal with this situation.
We know that this virus causes changes in guidelines on a regular basis focusing on the health and safety of our community, and we desire to respect those guidelines and adhere to them doing our part in minimizing the spread of COVID-19. We do not wish to rush opening our classrooms endangering the health of our students, families, and staff. We simply want to be prepared.
