All of our teachers are certified and have received their teaching credentials. We are so thankful for our teachers who take pride in managing their classroom, caring for each of his students, and challenging the class to work hard in their individual studies. Meet the Administrative Team

  • Michele Esqueda

    kindergarten

    Mrs. Esqueda has taught kindergarten for 10 years. She joined Prince of Peace in 2008 and holds a liberal studies degree and a psychology minor from Concordia University, Irvine, with an emphasis in child development. Mrs. Esqueda enjoys spending time with her husband, reading, watching movies & sports, shopping, and sharing God's love with her kindergartners.

  • arlene snyder

    Kindergarten

    Mrs. Snyder joined Prince of Peace in 2009. She taught First Grade for 5 years, Third Grade for 5 years and is currently teaching Kindergarten and loves it! She holds a BS Degree from Cal State East Bay and a master’s degree from UOP. Mrs. Snyder enjoys spending time with her husband, her two teenage boys,and her two German Shepherds. She loves growing in her relationship with Jesus, cooking, dancing, and RVing with family and friends.

  • emily numeron

    First Grade

    Mrs. Numeron joined the Prince of Peace staff as a Kindergarten aid in 2011. She currently is in her sixth year of teaching First Grade at Prince of Peace. She taught First Grade for 5 years in Fremont Unified School District and holds a degree from Baylor University with an emphasis on Reading Instruction. Mrs. Numeron enjoys trips to the beach with her family, running, and iced coffees!

  • Josephine Palumpon

    First Grade

    Mrs. Palumpon is new to Prince of Peace this year. She taught Kindergarten and Second Grade for 5 years in Fremont Unified School District. She received her Bachelor’s in Communications from University of California Davis, Multiple Teaching Credential from Cal State Monterey and holds an MEd from Concordia University with an emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction. She has been married for 12 years to her husband, Nandy and have 4 boys. One of her sons currently attends Prince of Peace. Mrs.Palumpon enjoys trips to the beach and hiking with her family, painting, and iced coffees!




  • Erin dueck

    second grade

    Mrs. Dueck joined Prince of Peace in 2010. She has taught 2nd grade for 10 years, as well as 3 years in other elementary grades. She holds a B.S. in Education from Concordia University, Nebraska, with emphasis on music. Mrs. Dueck enjoys creating lessons and experiences to guide her students in exploring and learning about the amazing world God has created. She loves helping each child grow and flourish. She also enjoys spending time with her family, going hiking, and enjoying nature.

  • Karsin Gowdy

    Second Grade

    Originally from San Diego, Ms. Gowdy is new to Prince of Peace this year. She has over three years’ experience teaching Pre-K, and graduated from Concordia Irvine in 2015. During her studies, Ms. Gowdy also studied theology abroad at Westfield House in Cambridge.  In addition to teaching 2nd grade Ms. Gowdy enjoys weightlifting, making costumes, and spending time with friends.

  • Heidi Blank

    Third Grade

    Miss Blank is new to Prince of Peace this year! She graduated from Concordia University Irvine in 2011. For the past seven years she served at Christ Lutheran in Norfolk, NE and then Faith Lutheran in Eustis, FL where she taught fifth and third grade. She has participated in church handbell choirs, attended mission trips to Honduras and Latvia, served as a YAV and CLB at multiple National Youth Gatherings, and coached JV volleyball. Miss Blank enjoys going the beach, Disney, trips to Starbucks, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.

  • ceres robinson

    third grade

    Mrs. Robinson has been teaching since 2004. She joined Prince of Peace in 2011. She has been teaching 3rd grade since joining us and formerly 1st grade for 7 years. She holds a Bachelors degree from Valparaiso University with emphasis in Elementary Education and also a Masters degree from San Francisco State University with emphasis in Special Education. Mrs. Robinson enjoys traveling, Broadway musicals, sports events, and spending time with her family.

  • CHeryl rawlins

    fourth grade

    Ms. Rawlins  joined Prince of Peace in 1992, but has been teaching for 40 years. In the past she has taught from Preschool through 8th grade. She  graduated from Concordia University, Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education and a minor in sociology.  She enjoys quilting, dancing, exploring and spending time with her family.

  • Janelle hopkins

    fourth grade

    Mrs. Hopkins became a Christian when she was fifteen years old in Sacramento. She’s taught fourth grade for over four years. She joined Prince of Peace in 2017 and holds a B.A. in English from the University of California, Davis with an emphasis in teaching, a multiple-subject teaching credential from San Francisco State University, and an M.A. from Dallas Theological Seminary in Christian Education. She and her husband, Dave, have been married for six years and have identical twin girls who attend Prince of Peace School. She is also a Sunday school teacher at Grace Baptist Church in Fremont. For fun and relaxation, Mrs. Hopkins likes to read British literature, have high tea, drink coffee, watch movies, and shop.

  • Erin mansfield

    fifth grade

    Mrs. Erin Mansfield has been teaching 5th grade at Prince of Peace since 2013 and this is her 10th year of teaching. She graduated from Concordia University, Irvine with a degree in Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in General Science. She also has a Masters of Education from Concordia University, Irvine. In her free time Mrs. Mansfield enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, exploring the beautiful outdoors and serving others in our community.

  • joe smith

    fifth grade

    Mr. Smith joined the Prince of Peace family as one of our substitute teachers in 2015.  He stepped in as a full-time First Grade teacher in 2016 and became one of our Fifth grade teachers in 2017.  In addition to teaching fifth-grade, he also coaches the school’s cross country team. Mr. Smith has his degree from Oklahoma State University as well as a Masters Degree in elementary education from Grand Canyon University. He enjoys watching sports, running, coaching lacrosse and spending time with his family.

  • louisa mehl

    sixth grade homeroom, jr. high science and history

    Ms. Mehl's joined Prince of Peace in 2016. She graduated from Concordia University, Nebraska with a degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in Special Education and English Language Learning. She is a sixth-grade homeroom teacher and teaches 6th grade Bible, Social Studies, and Science in addition to drama and a STEM elective. She also coaches softball, girls' basketball, and soccer. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, music, and being outside.

    sixth grade homeroom, jr. high science

    Mrs. Hines joined Prince of Peace in 2012 and is currently in her sixth year of teaching. She taught fourth grade for 4 years and currently teaches 6th Grade Homeroom, 7th & 8th Grade Science, Art, and Junior High Handbells. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with an Emphasis in Christian Education, from Concordia University Irvine. Mrs. Hines is currently working on her Master of Arts in Education Degree (MAED) with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction. This degree will be completed in June 2018 through Concordia University, Irvine. Mrs. Hines very much enjoys cuddling with her cats, reading, playing and directing handbells, and playing games with her husband and friends.

  • Ed Quirley

    7th grade Homeroom

    Ed Quirley joined the Prince of Peace staff in the fall of 2019. 

    He has 30 years of teaching experience in both Christian and public schools. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and has credentials in math and science. Mr. Quirley is one of our 7th grade homeroom teachers. He also teaches Junior High History and Math. His hobbies include travel, reading, and Bible study. Mr. Quirley's greatest passion is teaching eager students (any age, any subject) His free time is spent with friends over coffee. He is very honored to be able to join the dedicated teachers here at POP.

  • ryan melcher

    jr. high vice principal, seventh grade homeroom, social studies

    Mr. Melcher taught 5th and 6th grade for 10 years before joining Prince of Peace in 2015.  He currently teaches Jr. High Social Studies.  He holds a BA degree in Broad Field Social Studies from Concordia University-Wisconsin.  Mr. Melcher was the Jr. High Principal last year after completing the School Leadership Development program (SLED) through the Missouri synod. This year his is stepping into the role of Vice-Principal for Kinder-8th grade.  He enjoys coaching Jr. High basketball, fishing, camping, barbecuing, and spending time with his wife and two sons.



  • Kris toth

    athletic director, Jr. High PE

    Mr. Toth joined the staff of Prince of Peace in 2015. He graduated from Cal State East Bay with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and is currently finishing his Master’s degree in Elementary Education. He is a 7th grade homeroom teacher, jr. high PE teacher and Athletic Director while coaching flag football, basketball, and volleyball. In his free time, he likes to go hiking, eat lots of food, play any sport he can outside, and spend time with his famly.

  • peter berg

    8th grade homeroom, jr. high math

    Mr. Berg has been teaching at Prince of Peace since 2015. In addition to teaching Jr. High Math he also coaches girls softball.  He earned his bachelors degree from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon and his masters degree from WGU Washington.   He grew up in the Pacific Northwest and enjoys spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, boating and hiking.  He loves quality time with his wife Cara, his son Marcus, and his daughter Sophia.  Mr. Berg is also a big sports fan and follows the Seahawks, Mariners and Trailblazers.

  • Viviana sisniegas

    spanish teacher

    Señora Sisniegas used to teach Spanish in the corporate field. She was a substitute Spanish teacher at Prince of Peace for two years. The 2016-2017 school year is her first year as a full-time staff at Prince of Peace. Señora Sisniegas enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, dancing and traveling.

  • trevor sollitt

    computer instructor

    Mr. Sollitt substitute taught during the 2013-2014 school year and officially became staff in 2014. Having taught a variety of subjects last year for San Jose Unified School District and Prince of Peace, this is his first year teaching computer skills. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from San Jose State University with an emphasis on Cognition. Mr. Sollitt enjoys spending time with loved ones, watching baseball, and eating burritos.

    This is Mrs. Robeck's first year in the Elementary School and Junior High. She used to work over in our preschool, and now gets to spend time with some of her previous students.  We are excited to have her as our new P.E. teacher and happy to welcome her back to the Prince of Peace family.  She is also the mother of two Prince of Peace Alumni and in her spare time she loves to stay active and spend time with her family.

    music director, choir

    Cara Berg is the Director of Worship Arts at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fremont has been there since 2015. She graduated from Concordia University - Portland in 2007 with a major in elementary education and minors in professional church work and music, and an endorsement in early childhood education. At Prince of Peace School, Cara oversees the music ministry and directs the Junior High Choir and Student Praise Band. At the church she serves as director of Choirs and leader of Praise Bands, and assists in creating meaningful worship service experiences.  In her free time she enjoys reading, hiking, making music, and spending time with her family.

  • marla stein

    music teacher

    Miss Stein has taught 2nd grade since 2004. She has a B.S. in Biology from San Jose State University and a teaching credential from Santa Clara University. Miss Stein enjoys hiking, dancing, playing the flute and piano, and spending time with her niece and nephew. This year Miss Stein is going to step away from teaching 2nd grade full-time and is going to step into a new roll as one of our music teachers, focusing on the elementary grades.


  • mark sullivan

    band teacher

    Mr. Sullivan Joined the Prince of Peace Music Staff in 2018. In previous positions he has directed Junior High, High School, and College Music programs.  He has worked in church with all Ages: PK (Cherubs) through Grown-ups (Seniors) for nearly 30 years. He holds a BA in Music Education, and has done post graduate work in choral conducting at San Jose State University. His teaching credential is in General Music K-12. Now, as part of our music ministry he teaches beginning band, intermediate band and 2 sections of advanced band. He enjoys spending time with his two sons. He also writes and arranges music for instruments, and enjoys directing choirs of many cultural traditions.

    kindergarten aid, extended care and summer program director

    Ms. Nickles joined Prince of Peace in 2014 as the Extended Care Director and part-time Kindergarten Aid.  In 2016 she  started Prince of Peace's first Summer Program, with much success.  In her free time she enjoys watching movies, camping and spending time with family and friends.
